Charles J. Wilcox papers.

General description of the collection: The Charles J. Wilcox papers include a completed Korean War Veterans Survey questionnaire. Wilcox describes how "nearly all action" occurred at night, with night attacks, night patrols, and attempts to capture enemy prisoners of war (POWs). He notes the lack of problems with alcohol or drugs, although both were available. Wilcox believes that James Brady's book, The Coldest War, is superior to others. He also describes his use of an unauthorized .50 caliber machine gun, that earned mention in Brady's book. He also describes a friendly fire incident that killed a Red Cross worker, his favorable view of the cease-fire, and the importance of the rotation system to morale. Wilcox also believes that "military training is useful to every one in civilian life."
